The challenge

A great product nobody could find

Love Tales makes personalised, illustrated gift books. The product converted well once people found it, but Google barely knew the site existed. With a Domain Rating of 0, its pages ranked below competitors with weaker content and older domains.

An agency retainer was out of the question, and doing outreach by hand meant hours of finding contacts and writing pitches every week.

What Seowly did

Outreach that kept running in the background

Seowly found the sites already linking to gift and children's book competitors, located a contact for each, and drafted a pitch matched to the page. Every email went out from the Love Tales inbox after approval, with follow-ups handled automatically.

The first wave was free links: gift guides, directories, communities and unlinked brand mentions. Those landed the first three links within 10 days and built the base that later outreach compounded on.

The honest reading

What this data does not show

Love Tales is our own site. Marving Moreton co-founded it and founded Seowly, and part of the early outreach was done by hand, using the same process Seowly now automates.
Links are not the only thing that changed. The product, the site and the content also improved over the same 15 months.
Live referring domains move in both directions. Ahrefs counts 641 today, down from about 712 earlier in its chart, out of 1.1K all time.
A starting DR of 0 leaves a lot of room. Sites that start higher should expect slower gains per month.
Data and method

Where every number comes from

  • Domain Rating: Ahrefs, an independent third party. Seowly has no control over it.
  • Referring domains: Ahrefs, unique domains linking to lovetales.ai.
  • Clicks: Google Search Console for lovetales.ai.
  • Keywords: Ahrefs estimates.
  • Screenshots: from our own Love Tales accounts. The Ahrefs overview is from November 2026.

FAQs

How long did it take Love Tales to see results from link building?
The first three links landed within 10 days. Domain Rating and organic traffic built over the following months as later outreach compounded on that base.
Is Seowly connected to Love Tales?
Yes. Marving Moreton, the founder of Seowly, co-founded Love Tales. Seowly grew out of the outreach he ran on the site, so treat this as a founder's own case study.
Did Love Tales pay for links?
No paid placements were needed. The first wave was free links: gift guides, directories, communities and unlinked brand mentions.
Can I expect the same results on my site?
Not automatically. Love Tales started at DR 0, which leaves a lot of room, and its product, site and content improved over the same period. Sites that start higher should expect slower gains per month.
